“Sue was a kind and compassionate councillor, who worked tirelessly to support the people she represented in Bellingham.

“Even if you had just met Sue, you instantly felt like you were talking to a friend.

“She was a popular and respected figure at the Council and will be deeply missed by many.

“My thoughts and prayers are with Sue’s family and friends.”

Ms Hordijenko, who previously was a public engagement specialist and a fitness instructor, was part of the Labour and Co-operative Party.

She represented the Bellingham ward along with Cllr Alan Hall and Cllr Jacq Paschoud.

Lewisham Council said it is a “great sadness” to announce Cllr Hordijenko’s death but could provide no further details at this time out of respect to her friends and family.
