Live: Firefighters tackle blaze in basement flat

Firefighters are currently tackling a blaze at a west London flat.

Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters are responding to the fire in Holland Road, Kensington.

Half of a basement flat within a five-storey terraced building in currently alight.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called at 1.50pm. 

Crews from Hammersmith, Kensington, Chelsea and surrounding fire stations are in attendance.

A spokesman from the LFB said: “The cause of the fire is not known at this time.”
