Man arrested after weapons, drugs, cash and a machete found in a car in Greenwich
A man in his 20s has been arrested after a large amount of weapons, drugs, cash and a machete were found in a car in Greenwich.
At around 9pm on Monday, officers from the Violence Suppression Unit stopped the vehicle in Gilbourne Road.
The driver and the vehicle were searched and a folding knife with a locking blade was recovered from the centre console and a baseball bat between the door and the seat.
Concealed in the door was a large snap bag containing wraps of Class A drugs and cannabis and hidden under the window controls was another large bag of cannabis and a machete.
In total, officers seized 46 snap bags of cannabis, seven wraps and £510 in cash.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon and driving offences.
PC Daniel Miles who leads the investigation said: “This arrest highlights the ongoing work of officers to remove dangerous weapons and drugs from our streets.
“We will continue to make use of every resource available to us in order to keep our communities safe.”
