Man arrested after woman, 58, found dead in home

A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead at a home in Croydon.

The 58-year-old victim was found unresponsive at the property in Towpath Way just before 5am on Saturday.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services including London Ambulance Service crews, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 57-year-old man has been arrested in connection to her death and remains in police custody.

A Met police spokesman said: “It is believed the two parties are known to each other.

“Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. 

“The investigation continues.”

The home has been cordoned off as forensic examinations continue.

Police will continue to make door-to-door enquiries in the Addiscombe area.
