Man found dead inside flat after fire rips through bedroom on Christmas Eve

A man was found dead inside a flat after a fire ripped through the ground floor bedroom on Christmas Eve.

The fire broke out in a converted end-of-terraced house in Kimber Road, Wandsworth, at around 3.50am.

Half of a three-bedroom ground-floor flat was damaged in the blaze.

One man was found inside the property and pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said: “The LFB was called about the incident at around 3.50 am and the fire was under control by around 5.30am. 

“Firefighters from Wandsworth, Battersea and Tooting fire stations attended the scene.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
