Man hospitalised after crashing into two cars and a house

A man who was trapped in his car after a collision with two other cars and a house has been hospitalised.

Emergency services raced to Woodwarde Road in Dulwich yesterday afternoon after reports of a collision with a house.

A man was found trapped in a car at around 4.45pm and needed the roof of the vehicle to be cut off to get him out. The Met confirmed he had suffered a medical incident before the crash.

There were no other injuries and there was no damage done to the house, though the garden wall had been damaged.

A spokeswoman from the Met said: “Police were called at 16:43hrs on Monday, January 9 to reports of a road traffic collision in Woodwarde Road, SE22.

“Officers, the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade attended and found a car in collision with a residential building.

“The driver, who suffered a medical incident prior to the collision, was taken to a South London hospital.”

A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: “Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision in Woodwarde Road in Dulwich.

“One vehicle had collided with two parked cars and a garden wall. No damage was caused to the structure of the house.

“Crews released one man trapped inside the vehicle. He was taken to hospital London Ambulance Service crews.

“The brigade was called at 4.43pm and the incident was over for firefighters by 6pm. Crews from Battersea and Brixton fire stations attended the scene.”
