Man hospitalised with knife wounds after Battersea estate stabbing

A man was taken to hospital after a stabbing in Battersea over the bank holiday weekend.

Police were called at around 6.30pm on Sunday to reports that a man had been stabbed at the Surrey Lane Estate, near Battersea Park.

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended the scene.

The man, aged in his mid-30s, was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, the Met said.

An air ambulance helicopter landed in Battersea Park, but was not thought to have been needed.

The attacker remains on the loose with no arrests made at this stage.

A spokesman for the Met said: “Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 5691/05May.”
