Man left unconscious in random train attack

Police have released a CCTV image of a man after another man was left unconscious following a random attack on a train.

Officers are investigating an assault onboard a train from Blackfriars to Brighton which left the victim with a perforated ear drum.

At around 2.40pm on June 24, the victim, who was travelling with his friends, boarded the train and sat next to a man unknown to him.

The man became verbally aggressive and punched the victim in the head, knocking him unconsciousness and bruising him. The man left the train at London Bridge station.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.
