Max Moy Wheatley killing: Two teenagers charged with murder
Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of 19-year-old Max Moy Wheatley after he was fatally stabbed in the heart last month.
Billy Jay Benton, 18, of Playgreen Way, Bellingham, was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Arvie-Ray Mehmet, 19, of Arnulf Street, Bellingham, was charged with murder.
Both men were arrested on Friday and charged on Saturday. They will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today.
A spokesman for the Met said: “Mr Wheatley’s family have been informed of this development and they continue to be supported by specialist officers.”
Mr Wheatley, 19, from Orpington, was attacked on September 20, at around 2.30pm.
An investigation was launched after Mr Wheatley died from a stab wound to the heart in Jubilee Country Park, close to Tent Peg Lane in Petts Wood, Bromley.
Police, the London Ambulance Service and the Kent Air Ambulance attended, but Mr Wheatley died at the scene.
A post-mortem examination held on September 22, gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the heart.
