Mayor of Bromley walks almost 50miles of boroughs boundary for charity
The mayor of Bromley is walking almost 50 miles of the borough’s boundary to raise money for his chosen charities.
For the first leg of the challenge, Councillor Dr David Jefferys set off from the Italian Terraces, where the Crystal Palace once stood, at 9am on Friday.

Throughout the day he walked down to Biggin Hill in the south of the borough, completing just under 14 miles of the 47 mile route.
Next he will head from Biggin Hill to St Mary Cray and will then finish the final leg of the walk by heading back to Crystal Palace.

The challenge will raise money for Cllr Jefferys’ Mayoral charities, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Welcare in Bromley, and Bromley Youth Music Trust.
Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of all London boroughs, the fundraiser is also a celebration of 60 years of Bromley and highlights the area’s green spaces and rich history for residents.
