Motorcyclist left hospitalised with head injuries after a crash in Lambeth

A 37-year-old man has been left hospitalised with head injuries after a crash in Lambeth.

Officers were called at approximately 7.45am last Thursday, May 20, to reports of a collision on Kennington Road, involving a Mercedes Sprinter van and a Honda motorcycle.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made at this time.

The motorcyclist was taken to a London hospital with head injuries.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.45am this morning (20 May) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on Kennington Road.

“We sent two ambulance crews, a clinical team manager, an incident response officer and an advanced paramedic.

“We also dispatched a London’s Air Ambulance trauma team by car.

“The first of our medics were at the scene in under five minutes.

“A man was treated at the scene and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating.

Police are appealing for witnesses and any drivers who may have dashcam footage.

Detectives are particularly keen to hear from any drivers who were in Kennington Road at around 7.30am onwards and who may have recorded the events leading up to the collision on dashcam.

Any witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Catford Traffic Garage on 020 82851574 quoting CAD 1278/20MAY21.
