“My friends love coming over for a few drinks around the fire pit”

Every item is a bit wonky, which comes from making it up as you go along.

But that is a part of the charm of the shed Julie Twydell built.

The sign with its name, Hobbit House, was made from a chair salvaged from her local pub.

And now her structure has been given the Shed of the Year seal of approval, in the budget category.

It has an outside bar, The Hobbit Watering Hole, and Gandalf’s Bench

Julie, a marketing manager from Bromley, said: “I’ve always liked to keep busy and enjoy craft projects and trying to make use of the items I have around me.

“The pallets were from a local roofing company who kindly delivered them for me.

“The build took about four weekends and the only expense was the roof and the windows.

“Nothing is really straight, correct or perfect and that’s what I love about it. I like its rustic charm.

“The wall lights are solar-powered so that I can still work in there at night.

“During lockdown the shed has been the best thing for me. I can read in there, have a glass of wine, watch TV with the cinema screen, do craft and building projects.
