Open invitation to join new Beckenham choir

Next month sees the start of the Beckenham Good Afternoon Choir – which is open to anyone keen on an afternoon sing-song with the chance to meet new people.

It takes place on Wednesday, June 5 from 1pm-3pm at St John’s Church Hall, Eden Park Avenue, Beckenham.

The event, one of 26 across the west of England after being found by Bath-based musician Grenville Jones 15 years ago, will be lead by Bev McGarey.

The Good Afternoon Choirs raise money for local charities selected by the members. First rehearsals are free. See www.goodafternoonchoir.org for further information.

Everyone at the South London Press thanks you for your continued support.

Former Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has encouraged everyone in the country who can afford to do so to buy a newspaper, and told the Downing Street press briefing:

“A FREE COUNTRY NEEDS A FREE PRESS, AND THE NEWSPAPERS OF OUR COUNTRY ARE UNDER SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL PRESSURE”

If you can afford to do so, we would be so grateful if you can make a donation which will allow us to continue to bring stories to you, both in print and online.
