Police hunt man after attempted robbery left woman with ‘serious facial injuries’

The Metropolitan Police have released an image of a man in connection with an attempted robbery in which a woman suffered “serious facial injuries”.

At around 2am on October 10, 2021, in Bruton Street, Westminster, a man with his wife and two friends were waiting for a taxi after a night out when they were approached by three unknown men.

The men attempted to grab the watch from the man’s wrist, but he resisted and a struggle ensued. The victim’s wife told the suspects to get off her husband, before she was punched in the face.

The suspects then ran off and fled the scene, empty handed, in a car.

The female victim suffered serious facial injuries, which have required continuous treatment.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV or has information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting reference CAD 840/10Oct21.

Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
