Police ‘increasingly worried’ about missing teenager who disappeared a week ago

The family of a missing Kensington teenager are appealing for help after police officers say they are becoming “increasingly worried”.

Richard Okorogheye, 19, was last seen leaving his home in Ladbroke Grove, at around 8.30pm on March 22.

The Oxford Brookes University student, who suffers from sickle cell disease, was reported missing by his family two days later.

Friends have used social media to spread appeals to help trace the teenager, who is described as 6ft tall and slim.

The appeal has been shared thousands of times, including by celebrities such as the singer Dua Lipa and the author Bonnie Greer.

Richard is known to frequent the Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham areas.

Chief Inspector Clare McCarthy of the Met’s Central West Command Unit said: “Our officers have been working tirelessly to locate Richard, using all investigative opportunities and data enquires, speaking with witnesses and trawling CCTV.

“We are following every lead possible and are appealing for the public to help us in our work. If you may have seen Richard, please contact police.

“If Richard is safe and well, we ask him to contact us as a matter of urgency so that we can put his family’s minds at ease.”
