Royal Greenwich Festivals 2024 application period set to open

Royal Greenwich Festivals returns in 2024 for another summer and applications for funding to take part will open on Friday of next week.

If you have an idea for a creative community project, no matter what the art form, your organisation can apply for an amount up to £15,000, £30,000 or £90,000.

An applicants’ day will take place on November 9 from 3pm at Woolwich Town Hall. The workshop will give an overview of the application process and answer any questions.

Greenwich councillor Adel Khaireh said: “The Royal Greenwich Festivals programme is the highlight of the summer and we’re delighted to host award-winning, must-see events that form an integral part of London’s arts and culture calendar.

“These free, accessible and inclusive cultural opportunities bring communities together, welcome new visitors and present the best that Royal Greenwich has to offer when it comes to arts and culture.

“We’ve had so many incredible performances in recent years and I can’t wait to see what we can put on in 2024. If you’re interested in applying, come along to the workshop on November 9 to learn more about the process.”

The festival aims to programme lively, accessible, eye-catching events that are free for residents and visitors to the borough.

The council said funding was available to cultural or festival organisations that understand the diverse communities of Greenwich and are able to showcase the borough’s unique culture through creative events.

Email artsgreenwich@royalgreenwich.gov.uk by November 8 to register your place at the application workshop.

The application period is open from November 10 until noon on December 13, with successful applicants delivering events in the summer of 2024.

In 2023, the Royal Greenwich Festivals programme provided £164,000 in funding for events and delivered more than 50 free events and activities across the borough throughout the summer.
