Second man charged with South Norwood murder
A second man has been charged with murder after a body was discovered in South Norwood.
Darren Parchment, 20, of Melrose Avenue, Streatham, was charged today with murder and will appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court later today.
The man found dead is yet to be identified but is believed to be in his 40s.
Police were called at around 5.30am on Sunday after concerns were raised for the well-being of a person who had been found unresponsive in Station Road, near Norwood Junction railway station.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Monday, Agash Jeyanandam, 23, of Stonecroft Way, Croydon, was arrested on suspicion of murder and charged the following day.
He appeared in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 10 and was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey today.
A third man, aged 23, was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday. He remains in custody at a South London police station.
