Second man held in custody over killing of Trei Daley

Police investigating the murder of Trei Daley in Hackney Wick have made a new arrest.

The 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in the Crouch End area of north London on Saturday, and remains in custody.

An investigation was launched after police were called at around 4.30am on Saturday,  February 11, after two people turned up at an east London hospital with stab wounds.

Despite the efforts of medics, one of the men died in hospital. His family were informed and he was identified as Trei, 26, of Bromley.

It was established that Trei was stabbed near the Colour Factory nightclub in Queen’s Yard, which is just off White Post Lane in Hackney Wick.

A post-mortem held on Tuesday found the cause of death to have been a stab wound to the chest.

The second man, aged 24, was discharged from hospital later that same day.

Last Tuesday, 35-year-old Christopher Appiah-Blay, of Wick Road, Hackney, was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon, and has appeared in court.

Anyone with information or any witnesses who are yet to speak to police are urged to call 101, quoting CAD 1222/11Feb.
