Sidcup private school to cover fees for children of NHS key workers

A private school in Sidcup is set to start a new scheme to help children of key workers by covering school fees.

Merton Court Preparatory School is offering the children of NHS key workers the chance to apply for a full fees bursary at the school.

Applications are now open to frontline NHS key workers’ children who will be eight years old by August 31, 2021

The school has said it is “thrilled to offer these opportunities to NHS key workers’ children” and hopes the new scheme will give children “the chance to reach their full potential.”

Following initial application, children will be invited into the school to talk with the Headmaster and undertake two assessments (in Reasoning and Maths) in a Covid-secure manner.

Applications are actively encouraged from children who show strong academic, music, sporting, or artistic potential.

Headmaster and proprietor of the school, Dominic Price said, “Merton Court has always thrived on having enthusiastic and outgoing pupils.

“Frontline NHS workers, we all know, have coped bravely with immense challenges over the past year.

“We have a limited number of places available and are in the position to offer an excellent education, to those who are successful in applying for these scholarships.”

All applicants should contact office@mertoncourtprep.co.uk quoting the reference NHS Scholarship for further details.

Children applying for the scheme must be born between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013.

Successful entrants may commence at the School in Autumn (Year 4) 2021.

All applications to have been received by Wednesday 9 June 2021.
