Six homes flooded after major water main bursts, causing traffic chaos
A burst water main caused six homes to flood and traffic chaos in Lewisham this morning.
Ten fire engines and about 70 firefighters were called to flooding in Meadowcourt Road, Blackheath and Eltham Road.
Crews are working to divert flood water after the water main ruptured, flooding an area of about 600m by 200m.

Six properties have been flooded and the fire station has also been affected by flood water. There are currently no reports of any injuries.
There are significant road closures in place and buses are being diverted. People are advised to avoid the area.

The Brigade was called at around 4.40am. Fire crews from Lewisham, Eltham, East Greenwich and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.
