Space scientist and presenter Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock gives talk to girls school inspiring educational choices
The Sky at Night presenter Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock gave a talk at a girls’ school, hoping to inspire them in their future educational choices.
She and a host of other women took part in a two-week programme of events at James Allen’s Girls’ School (JAGS), as well as pupils from Central Foundation Girls’ School and St Saviour’s and St Olave’s school.
Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, from University College London, spoke during the first week.
She, broadcaster and journalist Emma Barnett, and journalist and activist Caroline Criado-Perez discussed examining growth-mindset, powerful women in the history of art, the importance of discussing periods openly, and the extent of gender data bias in today’s society, among other subjects.
The event was the finale of a two-week string of events held at JAGS to celebrate girls in education.
