Sporting academy scheme calls on all rising sports stars

Brockwell Lido is calling on young sporting talent in South London to join its youth sports scheme.

Fusion Lifestyle, the charity operator responsible for the Lido in Brockwell Park, Herne Hill, is inviting young sportspeople aged between 11 and 16 to be a part of its Fusion Sporting Academy Scheme.

The scheme works with the local authority to provide aspiring young athletes free access to all of Fusion Lifestyle’s facilities for a year.

This includes the latest equipment in the gym, pool access and unlimited exercise classes at 58 centres across the country, with seven located in London.

The scheme has supported more than 300 young athletes so far, with success stories including GB sprinter Claire Spurway, Paralympian Dan Greaves and aspiring Olympiad Tia Leaver.

Gareth Heard, head of sport and community development at Fusion Lifestyle said: “The youth community in South London is talented, engaged and ambitious, and we want to help upcoming athletes achieve their sporting potential.”
