Stabbing victim in his 20s dies after paramedics and cops try desperately to save his life at Brixton Tube station

Paramedics and police could not save the life of a stabbing victim in his 20s after they were called to an altercation at Brixton Tube station.

An investigation is underway after the man died following a call to the emergency services at 8.18pm on Wednesday, 21 July.

Officers found a man, believed to be aged in his early 20s, suffering from a stab injury. They immediately gave first aid before paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance arrived. But the man was pronounced dead at the scene at the less than 20 minutes later at 8.45pm.

His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by officers. Formal identification has not taken place.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

A crime scene remains in place and enquiries continue.

Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command have been informed.
