Teenager charged with the murder of man in Bexley
A 16 year old boy has been charged with the murder of a man from Belvedere in Bexley.
Ben Lines, 20, was found with a stab wound in the chest in Barnehurst Avenue, Bexley, on Sunday afternoon.
Police were called to the area at around 2.50pm to reports of males fighting in the street.
Mr Lines was taken to an east London hospital, where he died at around 5.30pm.
A post-mortem examination took place at the Princess Royal Hospital on October 15, and gave the cause of death as a stab wound to abdomen.
The 16-year-old boy was charged with murder has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bromley Youth court on October 16.
A 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released with no further action.
A 17-year-old boy, who was arrested on October 14 at an address in Dartford on suspicion of murder; has been released on bail until a date later this month.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell said: “A young man has been stabbed to death on a Sunday afternoon in the street, and now a young man’s family have been left mourning and looking for answers. I am asking anyone with information, or who witnessed this fatal stabbing, to call police.
“In particular we want to hear from you if you were passing around the time of the stabbing and may have recorded your car journey on a dashcam.
“You can answer the questions that are being asked by a grieving family by calling police and telling us what you know.”
