Teenager stabbed at The O2 ahead of ATEEZ gig

A teenager was stabbed at The O2 in Greenwich yesterday, just before K-pop group ATEEZ were set to take to the stage.

The teenager was rushed to hospital after an incident in the Cineworld area of the venue at around 2.45pm.

Three teenagers were detained by security staff and arrested on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH).

The O2 put out a statement which said: “This afternoon there was an altercation between a group of individuals in Cineworld at The O2, which resulted in one of the individuals requiring medical attention from the emergency services.”

The venue confirmed Cineworld closed for the rest of the day, but the event arena remained open.

A Met spokeswoman said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) to The O2, SE10, at 2.46pm on Wednesday, February 22, to reports of a stabbing.

“Officers attended. A teenage male was found with stab wounds.

“He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital. We await an update on his condition.

“Three teenage males were detained at the scene by security staff and then arrested by police on suspicion of causing GBH. They have been taken into custody.

“A crime scene has been put in place. Enquiries continue.”
