Teenager taken to major trauma centre after stabbing at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre
A teenager was airlifted to a major trauma centre after a stabbing at a shopping centre.
The 18-year-old was found by emergency services with stab wounds after they were called to the Surrey Quays shopping centre in Redriff Road, at around 12.15pm this afternoon.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “An 18-year-old man was found suffering from stab injuries. He was taken to an east London hospital; we await an update on his condition.
“A crime scene remains in place.”
There have been no arrests so far.
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 12.18pm today to reports of a stabbing in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre.
“We dispatched two ambulance crews, a medic in a car, and an incident response officer, with the first of our medics arriving within six minutes. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre.”
