TfL announces ‘new and improved’ timetable for Woolwich Ferry

By Diana Morais

Transport for London (TfL) has introduced new and improved timetables for the Woolwich Ferry.

The a free service transports thousands of passengers between Woolwich and North Woolwich every day.

Ferry services will now run longer on week days and weekends, with services every 15 minutes from 5am until 9pm.

TfL has also introduced a two-ship service at weekends to reduce waiting times and provide more reliable connections to the capital’s transport network.

The ferry is located close to the Elizabeth Line and the new SL2 Superloop line, which provides an express service between Walthamstow Central and North Woolwich.

The improved opening hours were introduced in response to a customer survey, which revealed a demand for longer opening hours.

Darren Ellis, Woolwich Ferry general manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer a new and improved timetable for the Woolwich Ferry, with passengers able to benefit from more frequent journeys and longer operating hours.

“We recognise how important this service is, particularly to local users, and will continue to work hard to enhance the ferry’s service and long-term reliability.”
