Three men arrested for attempted murder after a shooting in Herne Hill
Three men have been arrested for attempted murder and other suspected crimes after a man was shot in Herne Hill in September.
Police were called at around 9.40pm on September 10 to reports of a shooting where a 23-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were found at the scene. They were taken to a South London hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
One man aged 25, was arrested at an address today in Gandolfi Street, Camberwell for attempted murder and suspicion of supplying class B drugs as well as possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. A further two men, aged 29 and 20, were arrested at an address on the Denmark Hill Estate, near Herne Hill for attempted murder in the same shooting.
All three have been taken into custody suites across London. Detective Inspector Adam Seton, from the Specialist Crime South Proactive Syndicates, said: “Tragically this past weekend has seen two people lose their lives and another seriously injured in a shooting in east London.
“We (MPS officers) are working tirelessly to tackle violent crime in London, bring those responsible to justice and ensure our communities are able go about their daily lives safely without the fear of seeing these truly distressing crimes being committed in their neighbourhoods.
“We need the public to provide us with intelligence, information and names of people who may be in possession of firearms or other weapons and those committing violent crime to allow is to build strong evidential cases and remove dangerous individuals from the streets of London.”
