University of Greenwich appoints new deputy vice chancellor

The University of Greenwich has appointed a former chief executive and respected scholar as its new deputy vice chancellor.

Professor Jane Roscoe, former director and chief executive of the London Film School, will take up the role.

Ms Roscoe has also held one of the most senior executive positions in Australian broadcasting, and set up the Centre for Screen Studies and Research at the Australian Film, Television and Radio school.

She is a respected scholar in documentary studies and screen industries research, a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and a member of BAFTA and the RTS.

Speaking about her appointment, Professor Roscoe said: “I am thrilled to be joining the University of Greenwich and I look forward to working with colleagues and students as we steer the organisation through the pandemic and beyond. I am looking forward to making my contribution to the university’s success.”

Professor Jane Harrington, vice chancellor of the University of Greenwich, said: “I’m delighted that Jane will be joining the university next month.

“She will be bringing with her a wealth of experience and I particularly welcome her focus on partnerships, the student experience and the development of exciting and innovative provision.”

Professor Roscoe will join the University on February 22.
