Oxford complete defensive signing ahead of Charlton visit

Oxford United have completed the signing of defender Greg Leigh ahead of tomorrow’s League One clash against Charlton Athletic.

The left-back has left Ipswich Town on a permanent deal to join Liam Manning’s side.

Leigh came through at Manchester City’s academy and has had spells at Aberdeen and Morecambe.

He told the club website: “I’ve played against Oxford a few times now and they are always really good on the ball and looking to get on the front foot.

“I met with Liam Manning and he talked me through where the club sees itself not just this year but in the future, and that really sold it to me. I can’t wait to be involved.”

The Addicks head to The Kassam tomorrow afternoon for their fifth outing of the campaign.
