AFC Wimbledon keeper has been “sensational” – he is allowed mistake against Gillingham

AFC Wimbledon striker James Hanson is backing Aaron Ramsdale to bounce straight back from his mistake in last weekend’s 4-2 defeat to Gillingham.

The on-loan Bournemouth stopper saw Graham Burke’s long-range strike squirm under his body and over the line to give the Kent side a 2-1 lead on the stroke of half time.

But Ramsdale had kept four clean sheet prior to shipping four on Saturday.

And Hanson, who scored a late consolation against the Gills, is confident the goalkeeper will be back to his best for this weekend’s vital match at Scunthorpe United.

Hanson said: “He’s been sensational since he came in, around the boys and in training – the clean sheets show how well he has been doing.
“He’s allowed that mistake. Of course it isn’t ideal but the type of person he is, he’ll come back and be sensational until the end of the season.”
