BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Ben Foakes has signed a new Surrey deal until the end of the 2023 season.

The 26-year-old wicket-keeper signed for the South London club in 2015 from Essex.

Foakes won his first Test cap for England in November 2018 against Sri Lanka. He has played in all three formats for his country.

“I am extremely grateful to the club for the opportunity to play here for the coming years,” said Foakes. “Playing for Surrey has allowed me to achieve childhood dreams and I am excited and determined to replicate those in the coming years.”

Foakes has featured 153 times for Surrey and scored 5,474 first-class runs in 109 games at an average of 38.01. He has claimed 276 dismissals.

Surrey’s Nat Sciver has been named in the England Women’s squad for their tour of Malaysia in December.

They will play six white ball matches against Pakistan.
