Birmingham City man was at Dons’ pre-season friendly – but boss Downes not talking up loan return
BY DAN MARSH
AFC Wimbledon manager Wally Downes has made no attempt to talk up a loan return for Steve Seddon – even though the Birmingham City man was at their weekend pre-season friendly against Brentford.
Wing-back Seddon was a star performer in the Dons’ daring great escape in League One last year, but recently signed a new three-year deal with his parent club.
Birmingham also have a new man at the helm, Pep Clotet taking charge following the dismissal of Gary Monk.
“Was he?” laughed Downes when asked by the South London Press about Seddon’s attendance and future.
“Well no, Steve’s signed a new contract and he’s Birmingham’s player. We enquired about him, but he’s back to Birmingham so I wish him well there.”
