Bromley boss Woodman: We’ve still got play-off chance in our own hands

Andy Woodman took positives out of Bromley’s 2-1 defeat at home to Chesterfield on Tuesday evening to end a six-game unbeaten run.
The defeat drops them to eighth in the National League and one point off the play-offs.
Woodman told Bromley’s official website: “It was small margins. It wasn’t a great first half. We changed our shape in the second half and we had more joy. We had a little error at the back, lapse in concentration and we were punished. That’s what happens.
“The boys should be proud of themselves. They had a go again, and their keeper pulled off a few unbelievable saves. Credit to Chesterfield, they were excellent. They came here, had a good gameplan and stuck to it. It caused us problems, fair play to their manager and their team.
“[Our equaliser] was a fantastic finish from Jude [Arthurs], a really composed finish. It came from us applying pressure and working hard. I’ve got no complaints with the result or on my team. They had a real go and I’ve just said to them in there, if you keep performing like that for the rest of the season, we are going to be there or thereabouts.
“We haven’t been beaten in seven up until tonight. We knew this would be a hard game. Did you think Chesterfield were going to come here and roll over? They’re trying to get into the division above as well, just like us.
“We knew this would be a hard game, all the games are going to be hard. But I’ve got a team that will have a go until the end and it was just fine margins that’s cost us.
“We have six games left and we still have to play all the teams around us, so it’s still in our own hands to try and achieve something this year. We’re still on track for our in-house points target that we set from when I came in. There’s no dramas from me.
“There’s no game on Saturday, so it gives us a bit of time to work on a couple of bits. We haven’t done a lot after Saturday’s game. I’m not using that as an excuse because they’ve travelled down from Chesterfield so it’s the same for everyone. We’ll get ready for Monday’s game and go again.”
