Bury v Charlton Athletic team news: Ricky Holmes absent with move to Sheffield United set to be completed

Ricky Holmes does not feature for Charlton at Bury, with his move to Championship side Sheffield United expected to be completed over the next few days.

The 30-year-old’s exit will make a further dent into the South Londoners’ injury-ravaged squad, as Karl Robinson is only able to name five substitutes for today’s clash at Gigg Lane.

The winger was spotted checking into the hotel attached to the Blades’ Bramall Lane ground last night ahead of the Steel City derby with Sheffield Wednesday, which ended goalless.

Holmes’ absence is one of two changes that Robinson makes to his side as they prepare to face a Shakers side who have lost their last seven in all competitions.

Ben Reeves comes in to replace the departing winger, whilst Patrick Bauer also misses out through injury. Youngster Anfernee Dijksteel is set to make his third league start of the campaign.

Both Jake Forster-Caskey and Chris Solly make a return from injury of sorts, as they take their places amongst the substitutes.

Charlton: Amos, Dasilva, Lennon, Konsa, Dijksteel, Kashi, Aribo, Marshall, Reeves, Mavididi, Magennis. Subs: Phillips, Jackson, Hackett-Fairchild, Froster-Caksey, Solly.

So only 2 subs really. Foster-Caskey and Solly not fit or would be playing. Jackson is not a starter really now. Hackett-F and Foster -C are two people but it looks like 4 on the sheet.
Average below 19 ? for first time since Vietnam war.

We msy need body bags for the injured .
