Cenk Tosun describes “great feeling” after netting maiden Crystal Palace goal
Cenk Tosun has described the “great feeling” of scoring his first Crystal Palace goal.
The Turkey international – on loan from Everton until the end of the season – opened the scoring on his maiden start for the Eagles in their enthralling 2-2 draw against Manchester City.
Tosun headed in after Gary Cahill met James McCarthy’s corner. Sergio Aguero struck a late brace as the hosts appeared to have stolen all three points – only for Fernandinho to put through his own net as the clock ticked into added time.
“It was a great feeling to score a goal on my first start,” the 28-year-old told Palace TV.
“As a striker you need confidence and confidence comes with the goals.
“[It was] a very important point for us. I just want to say thank you to all the lads because everybody ran until the last second, even after the 2-1, nobody gave up and I think we deserved a point here.
We played a solid game today. We knew City would have more possession than us but I’m happy with the point.”

Well done Cenk. Was always a class act for us at Everton. Sorry things didn’t work out here for him.
