Charlie Methven appointed chief executive officer as Global Football Partners make structural changes

Charlton Athletic have confirmed Charlie Methven as their new chief executive officer as part of a number of changes made by the club’s owners Global Football Partners.

Jim Rodwell, managing director and chairman, will be in charge of football operations at the League One outfit’s Sparrows Lane training ground.

Charlton have issued a statement regarding the appointments with Methven “responsible for the off-pitch growth of the football club and will oversee the day-to-day running of the club at The Valley”. His appointment is subject to EFL approval.

Technical director Andy Scott will no longer be on the board and will report to Rodwell.

Paul Elliott, already a board member, has been appointed vice-chairman.

Methven, Rodwell and Gavin Carter, all board members, will be answering questions at tonight’s online fan meeting, which starts at 7pm.

It will be shown live on Charlton TV and also the club’s YouTube channel.
