Charlton Athletic boss has no injury concerns over key man as he provides update ahead of Stockport clash
Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones says that Tyreece Campbell is fit for Saturday’s League One match at Stockport County.
The 21-year-old South Londoner has been a key performer for the Addicks and was fouled for Macauley Gillesphey’s free-kick winner in midweek against Barnsley.
Campbell has scored five goals and collected one assist in 39 appearances in all competitions this season.
But he was replaced by Chuks Aneke in the 86th minute of the Tuesday night victory.
“Tyreece, it is stuff we monitor, but he is fine,” said Jones, asked about the academy product’s availability. “It wasn’t an injury as such, it was more fatigue and cramping – that can lead to injury, if you’re not careful.
“As you would imagine the squad is in good shape and there is really good competition.
“One or two got games with the U21s the other day to keep everyone fresh and we had a really good training session today.”
Goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer is out with a groin injury that forced him off in the 1-0 loss at Birmingham City.
Will Mannion has stepped back into the number one spot.
“Ashley is a bit further away so that one we have just parked a little bit while he gets back up to speed,” said Jones.
“He is out on the grass and jogging but it’s an injury which is going to be a little while yet.”
