Charlton Athletic boss set to make wholesale changes for FA Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle
Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer is set to rest a number of his first-team players in Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle.
The Addicks are on a five-game winning streak – and unbeaten in six – ahead of tomorrow night’s home League One game against Fleetwood Town.
After that comes the visit of the Pilgrims at the weekend before an EFL Trophy group stage fixture against Leyton Orient, also in SE7.
“I’m knackered – just travelling here, there and everywhere,” said Bowyer. “It’s just tiring.
“The Fleetwood game is going to be another tough one – similar to the weekend it will be a physical test – and we’ll have to be at it again. You have to push yourself in games – that’s how you get results. The players are doing that.
“After Tuesday hopefully we get the result we all want and can give a bit of a break, because they need one. I’ll make changes for that game [the Plymouth tie].”
