Charlton Athletic duo nominated for League One awards for excellent March

Charlton Athletic’s fine March has seen Nathan Jones and Alfie May both nominated for the monthly League One awards.

The Addicks have been in fine form under Welshman Jones since he succeeded Michael Appleton as boss.

Charlton collected nine points last month as they did not lose their five matches over that period and it means the former Luton Town, Southampton and Stoke boss is up for the Manager of the Month award.

Also shortlisted are John Mousinho (Portsmouth), Michael Skubala (Lincoln City) and Paul Warne (Derby County).

May is leading the League One goal charts and netted four times as well as collecting an assist in March.

The forward is up for the Player of the Month award along with Ebou Adams (Derby), Sam Smith (Reading) and Joe Taylor (Lincoln).

The winners will be announced at 6am on Friday.
