Charlton Athletic in positive position in terms of contract talks with key defender
The South London Press understands that Charlton Athletic’s contract talks with Lloyd Jones are progressing positively.
The 29-year-old centre-back’s current deal expires at the end of June.
Jones has been linked with League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers but our paper recently reported that Charlton had no intention of allowing the former Liverpool and Cambridge United player to move on in the current window.
Jones has made 17 starts in the league for the Addicks this season and the defence did not look anywhere near as secure when he was sidelined with a foot injury and missed six matches in that competition.
The defender has featured 56 times since making the move to South London, scoring three times.
