Charlton Athletic midfielder makes Ayr United move

Charlton Athletic midfielder Ben Dempsey has joined Ayr United for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old came through the Addicks youth ranks and spent the second half of last season on loan with the Scottish Championship club.

Dempsey has signed a three-year contract with the Honest Men.

Dempsey has also had temporary spells with Dulwich Hamlet, Kingstonian and Woking.

He made his debut for Charlton against Milton Keynes in the EFL Trophy in August 2018.

Dempsey made 11 senior appearances for the South London club.
