Charlton Athletic trigger contract extensions for four players – including Forster-Caskey and Inniss

Charlton have triggered contract extensions on four players – Ryan Inniss, Jake Forster-Caskey, Josh Davison and Nathan Harness.

And the Addicks have also revealed that they have the option to extend George Dobson, Corey Blackett-Taylor and Ashley Maynard-Brewer’s deals by an extra 12 months. All are due to be up next summer.

The club are still in negotiations with Ben Purrington, who is also due to be out of contract this month. Experienced centre-back Jason Pearce has been offered a coaching role with the academy.

Midfielder Forster-Caskey has worked his way back from a second ACL injury and won the Player of the Year award in the 2020-21 season.

“I’m delighted to be staying,” said Forster-Caskey. “It’s an exciting time for the club and I can’t wait to get going. I believe it is going to be a great season.”

Director of recruiting Steve Gallen added: “I’m pleased we’re keeping Jake with us.

“All the Charlton fans know what a good player he is and he’s a great character to have around the club too.

“He’s been working hard to get back to full fitness, we’ve seen glimpses this season and now he has a full summer to get his head down and get back to the level we all know he can play.

“We have a group of players in place and our focus this summer is adding further quality to the squad.”
