Charlton Athletic Women duo sign contract extensions

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Grace Coombs and Georgia Griffin have signed new contracts with Charlton Athletic Women.

The Addicks won promotion to the Championship after a play-off victory over Blackburn last month.

Vice-captain Coombs has played over 200 games for the club. Griffin, 18, bagged the winning goal against Rovers to clinch going up.

Coombs said: “We have come so close in other seasons but we really stepped up and achieved what we set out to do by winning the league and the play off final. It was an unbelievable feeling that I still can’t really put into words and leading the team out towards the end of the season was a real honour.”
