Charlton boss Lee Bowyer has nothing to add on Karlan Grant’s future at this moment – with the striker set for the exit door

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer says he has nothing further to add at the moment on the potential transfer of Karlan Grant.

The South London Press understands that Grant is set to leave the Addicks before the end of this transfer window, and didn’t train with his Charlton colleagues yesterday.

The academy graduate missed a late penalty on his Charlton swansong, as the Addicks had to settle for a goalless draw with Peterborough United at London Road.

“Not at the moment,” said Addicks boss Bowyer when asked if he could reveal any more at the moment.

“He’s our player. He just gave us ninety minutes out there and gave me everything. He’s our player and he showed that today. He gave everything for us. He ran and fought for every ball. He’s still our player unless something changes before the window. But at the moment he’s our player.

The South Londoners will continue to look for further reinforcements up-top, with the transfer window set to close this Thursday.

“Trust me, we’ve been working hard for a while, like we do with every player we bring in,” Bowyer added.

“Like I keep saying, he has to be the right person. The group of lads we have are unique. This player, whoever we bring in, has to fit in. He has to have good quality. Like you’ve seen there today, the quality we have is very high.”
