Charlton centre-back could make return to squad for AFC Wimbledon match
Charlton defender Ryan Inniss is back in full training and could be available for tomorrow night’s derby at AFC Wimbedon.
The former Crystal Palace centre-back has been absent since the end of February due to a thigh injury.
Inniss is due to be out of contract this summer although the Addicks have an option to extend his terms.
“Ryan is back in training and potentially available to us,” Charlton manager Johnnie Jackson told the South London Press. “Ryan could be involved, or certainly by the weekend I’d expect him to be available.
“Chuks [Aneke] is due to train with the group next week. By then another two games will have gone so there will only be four left.
“There are no injuries, as such, from the [Lincoln] game. There are a few tired lads, a few who have played the last four in a row because I have played the same team. There will be some lads right on the brink, so we’ll have to look whether it is time to freshen it up. I don’t want to put certain lads at risk.”
Alex Gilbey is suspended after his quickfire double booking against the Imps.
“It was a silly one, I think he knows that and recognises that,” said Jackson. “He has apologised to his team-mates, to me and to the supporters. This is football, things happen in the heat of the moment. He has to learn from that and can’t allow that to happen again.
“He is going to miss games of football and now has got to get back into the team. It’s a costly one. But we have to move on and can’t dwell on it.”
