Charlton forward Chuks Aneke in isolation after being diagnosed with coronavirus

BY LOUIS MENDEZ

Charlton forward Chuks Aneke is set for a spell in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.

The striker, 27, was absent from the Addicks squad for the 3-1 home defeat against Doncaster and boss Lee Bowyer revealed the diagnosis after the game.

He said: “Chuks Aneke is ill. Coronavirus. [We found out on] Thursday. He reported on Wednesday that he didn’t feel well and was told to stay away. He had a test, it came back positive so he hasn’t been in since the West Ham game.

“Even when he’s fit we can’t get him on the pitch, it’s unbelievable.”
