Charlton forward Chuks Aneke set for scan after limping out of EFL Cup win over Brighton

Chuks Aneke will be sent for a scan after limping out of Charlton’s EFL Cup triumph over Brighton.

The Addicks forward, who missed the opening 10 weeks of the campaign with a calf problem, lasted only five minutes after being introduced from the bench during the second half of the clash with the Premier League outfit at The Valley.

Caretaker boss Anthony Hayes said: “It looks muscular but that’s not clarified. He’ll be sent for a scan. We’re just hoping that it’s a minor muscular injury.

“It looked like it was in the hamstring region. It would have been a risk to leave him on. We felt the best thing in the interests of the player and the team was to make the change.”
