Chelsea v AFC Wimbledon EFL Cup third round starting line-ups – Young midfielder makes first professional start

Johnnie Jackson has handed Morgan Williams his first professional start in AFC Wimbledon’s EFL Cup third round clash at Premier League side Chelsea.

The 18-year-old had only made one substitute appearance – a 1-0 defeat at Grimsby last season – before today.

The Dons boss has also handed starts to Alex Pearce and Alex Bass. 

Lee Brown drops to the bench and Omar Bugiel has been replaced by Josh Davison.

Ali Al-Hamadi has been named on the bench with Harry Pell coming into the starting line-up.

James Ball, who joined from Rochdale on a free transfer this summer, also comes into the side with Armani Little and Jake Reeves missing through injury.

AFC Wimbledon: Bass, Ogundere, Pearce, Lewis, Johnson, Williams, Pell, Ball, Neufville, Tilley & Davison.

Chelsea: Sanchez, Diasi, Colwill, Humphreys, Cucurella, Moreira, Gallagher, Ugochukwu, Maatsen, Madueke, Burstow.
