Chuks Aneke has not turned down Charlton Athletic contract offer

Chuks Aneke has not rejected Charlton’s contract offer – but a number of clubs are interested in the striker.

TEAMtalk claimed that the 27-year-old had turned down a contract extension in SE7 and will become a free agent at the start of July.

But the South London Press has been told that Aneke has not rejected the Addicks’ terms.

TEAMtalk have reported that Middlesbrough, Reading, Coventry, QPR and Bristol City are all keen on the former Arsenal and MK man and that he also has options in America and Scotland.

Aneke scored 15 goals in 38 matches for Charlton last season. He joined on a free transfer from MK in the summer of 2019.

America and Scotland are about Chuks’s level but he’ll be too fragile to last long north of the border, so stateside provides his best chance of regular football
